I can see Haise whenever I please- do come along smartly.
[Sorry, Haise.............. she wants to see that ability, sry. So much that she actually tears herself away from her cobbled together microscope to quickly wash and try and look presentable for a guest.]
[In fact, she might be there in less than five minutes, given she's staying in the same in. The time spent in between was bringing the samples along with her, and when she finally finishes, she knocks on her door.]
[It's enough time at least for Sieglinde to wash her face in an attempt to freshen up... but there's no helping her oily hair and unwashed dress. Oh well- merely signs of her dedication to her work. That and how obscenely cluttered her room was with notes, potions, dry herbs, experiments in various steps...
Well, she never claimed to be anything but a witch...]
Greetings, Yaoyorozu Momo- do come in.
[It's a girl child barely four feet tall who answers the door, though, stepping aside on unsteady feet to allow entry.]
[She manages to keep a pleasant expression on her face, though the way she pauses in the doorway is a particularly strong indicator that the smell was strong enough that it caught her off-guard.
Eventually though, she comes in, bowing to her.]
Thank you for meeting with me on such short notice. You may call me Yaoyorozu.
[Sieglinde is kind of used to that reaction, seeing as she often dealt with chemicals and concoctions that did not always smell the most pleasantly... so she just lets the woman in, closing the door behind her.]
Yaoyorozu, then. You have my thanks for completing my "bounty".
[What a strange concept, but, it had come to her advantage this time. On weak feet, she toddles about to a chair and tries to clear it off for her guest, shifting aside notes and packets of herbs native to her own homeland.]
Are you... Japanese?
[She's getting the hang of these names, (if not social norms and how not to ask blunt questions), thanks to hanging around.... Sengoku period samurai.
One of whom's distinctive armor is taking up most of the corner of Sieglinde's room.]
[She allows herself to look around, observing the contents of the place, fascinated by what she's doing. It's completely different from what exactly Yaoyorozu can do, and it makes her wonder if there's something she can learn in this place. At the question though, she turns to her with a smile.]
Oh, yes, I am. There's quite a few of us around, it seems.
Indeed. Far more than there are Germans, to be sure. Here- Please take a seat.
[Once she finally clears a chair Sieglinde gestures to it before clambering awkwardly into her own desk chair. In Nalawi things had been made for people her side, but Perdition's Rest wasn't so kind to... well, child sized persons.
Once sat down herself, she goes for a container to accept the native herbs, shuffling through another giant mess of notes and half-finished experiments.]
[Sieglinde grabs hold of her work satchel, unfurling a canvas case and revealing a variety of herbs, all different colors and textures and smells, beginning to point them out.]
These are from Nalawi, used by the natives there for seasickness... nausea... this is from Zeta-12, it's smoke produces a calming effect... this is from Chantes...
[If she isn't interrupted, who knows how long this will go on.]
She pauses, just about to write when she asks, and smiles.]
Created, in this case. I have the ability to create a certain amount of objects as long as I know their properties. I still have a long way to go to master it, but it has helped me in many situations.
[She takes that as her cue to hand the notebook over to her, seemingly pleased and trying not to be too smug about it. She's a high-class lady after all, and humility is important.]
All of the above. To be more specific, I have to know the make-up of each material I create, as my Quirk allows me to convert my lipids into different chemical and molecular structures. Something like this is simple enough, but the larger it is, and the less familiar the material is, the longer it takes me to create any object.
Of course, if I don't think of the scale and design as well, it could cause it to break apart. Every detail counts.
[Sieglinde takes it eagerly, peeling apart pages and examining it under a better light, looking at it from every angle and squinting before she simply digs out a large... crystal ball? from under her mess of notes on her desk. Well, it wasn't crystal if one looked smartly- there was a filmy quality to it made by layers of biological material, once the lens of the eye of a sea serpent.
Nalawi had been an adventurous place. But she quickly traces a rune on the surface of the lens and activates a latent spell she'd worked into it, turning the thing into a magnifying glass and examining the notepad even closer, barely remembering she still had company.
Ah, but she did.]
This is quite amazing work, with so many potential applications... the paper is of such fine quality, too-
[ooc; omg I'm so sorry I thought I'd tagged this and then found it when I was filing AC... enfwlgn if it's been too long feel free to drop but APOLOGIES]
[ooc; That is perfectly fine! I was very happy to see this. :)
Yes. It's called a Quirk in my world, but it is closer to an ability rather than a power.
The crystal(?) ball definitely seems to catch her attention, and she's fascinated by it. She's itching to touch it, because she wants to know what exactly it is, but she refrains from doing so. She may not be able to use it after all, so it might not be a good thing to learn. The spell, however, is definitely something she's interested in.
She knows, after all, that it's possible to learn magic here, so she has to wonder if that is from her own or from here. She seems pleased by the praise though, but then she's had such mixed reactions here to her quirk, that it makes it a little easier to find pleasure in that.]
I'm able to recreate a large variety of objects back where I'm from, though I admit it's been harder without my collection in hand. Still, if I am able to study and understand how something is made, I can eventually recreate it. But ah... there are limitations.
[If Yaoyorozu did not ask for her notebook back who knew when she would receive it- because even though Sieglinde peels herself away from the serpent eye lens she has converted into a magnifying glass, she leaves the paper product on her desk and dives instead for a few vials, coming up with one full of metal shavings, another a liquid, and another hand clutched a bundle of dried herbs. The same ones she had pointed out as being from Zeta-12.]
Could these sorts of things be replicated safely?
[If she looks excited it's only because this potentially opened up an entirely new didn't-need-to-worry-about-running-out style of experimentation.]
[She doesn't get to answer, not when she has already left to get the things she wanted to show her. Admittedly, the herbs and the liquid makes her lose a bit more confidence, but she sees the metal shavings and knows she can work with that, at least.]
I've never tried liquids, and unfortunately I can't do anything with the herbs, but the shavings is simple enough. I may be able to create a liquid substance if I tried, but I've experimented largely with more solid objects in the past.
... If I may, for the herbs, I can at least create items that could help you grow them instead?
[Now that is promising news! It was not as completely good as it could have been, but who is she to be disappointed when that is far more than she could do herself? Sieglinde is fairly humming with excitement, looking a little less exhausted for how she lights up at the prospect of recreating some of the solid ingredients in her possession. Saltpeter, for one, lime, or bloodstone-]
Like seeds? Or like recreating the proper soil conditions?
[She'a already rummaging around for all her solid vials, lining them up on her desk.]
Does using your "quirk" tire you? Is there limits on how often you may use it?
The latter. I'm not capable of making living objects, or food, and so things like herbs and seeds fall into those categories. I can make things that could recreate soil conditions, if we have existing soil.
[She elaborates, though not by much.]
It does. It's similar to exercising for me, so I can't use it limitlessly. However, te amount of objects I can make also varies. If I'm extremely familiar with them, I can make them easily without breaking a sweat. Larger objects take more time and energy, too.
[From... everywhere they've been, actually, multiple locations, all tagged and bagged and kept properly in her storage. But she realizes she might be getting ahead of herself here, trying to reign in the desire to pull those out as well.]
- would we be able to reach some sort of deal, perhaps? My work would benefit most greatly from your abilities, and I am more than willing to make it worth your while.
I can't think of anything I want at the moment, but I do want to be of use to your research.
[She says, and there seems to be relief there, about the fact that she can be useful for her. That her abilities weren't simply stuck with combat.]
I've been trying to look for ways to improve my abilities, so the challenge of recreating alien conditions sounded very appealing for me. I could say this is also beneficial for me as an arrangement.
Well, you must at least allow me to repay you for the herbs you gathered.
[Could it be, someone who valued study and research near the same level she did? It was a heartening prospect, and Sieglinde refocuses her movement to begin pulling out a few of her more individual dose size vials.]
I have potions here... our missions are dangerous, as I am sure you are aware, so they could come to good use...
[And she's quick to read the labels helpfully, (seeing as they're written in German), pointing out antihæmorrhagic agents, anti-inflammatories, sedatives, stimulants, anesthetics...]
